Who is eHost??
eHost is in basic terms, a website builder provider, domain registration provider and in addition, a website host. The organization’s timetable begins in 1999. eHost has been putting forth website creation, email services and a pile of other website hosting and services since the time they began.
During that time a ton of things has changed with eHost. In 2015 re-branding took place. They got a radical new site outline, another logo and a new control panel.
eHost utilizes drag & drop website developer/creation tools which numerous people might be acquainted with. This implies you can fundamentally move and customize pictures and components all over on your website. I for one like this component, however observed eHost’s drag & drop to be exceptionally full of bugs.
eHost as of now has 1 million sites facilitated at their stage. Deceiving to say the least. Numerous individuals get effortlessly persuaded by numbers like these, yet this isn’t really a great deal of sites in the grand scheme of things.
eHost has likewise gotten a great deal of negative feedback from clients recently. Numerous individuals have claimed to have lost many dollars to them. Is it truly a trick? Is eHost a Scam? Let’s dig deeper!
How Much is eHost?
Well from the small print I found, up front pricing after your “term” is up is as follows: $215.28 – 3 yr, $191.52 – 2 yr, $119.76 – 1 yr or $13.98/mo.
So? Tell me again where this “Regularly $5.50” is!?
As i continued on in their check out. I tried to press back. Then I was prompted with the notice that they will give me more incentive to sign up. 60% off! WOW looks amazing right? Wrong!! The only way to utilize the entire discount you have to pay up front for three years.
Other wise you are given the 60% off to the other terms as well, again paid up front. The one month term is discounted but keep in mind next month you WILL be paying $13.98/mo.
So Should I Sign Up For eHost?
Well…. I am certainly not here to tell you what to do. But after some honest hard research here’s what I found. Lets just take a look at a few of many reviews/comments on eHost that I found. The positive reviews were far and few in between.
Then when I checked who the hosting provider was of said site. Yeah, not even hosted at eHost. What does your guy tell you about that??
So what now? The consensus to me is FIND A BETTER HOST!
For the most Advanced to Expert Users I would highly recommend Godaddy.com
For people who are just starting out or are semi knowledgeable to Expert users I would highly recommend Wealthy Affiliate! You can read my WA review here!
Is eHost a Scam?
Well after reading some reviews numerous individuals said that the eHost client support wouldn’t react to any of their messages sent, neither telephone calls. As the vast majority of the messages were from irate clients, I can see why they would abstain from replying, yet this again just affirms that it IS a scam! OR they are just really bad at responding to customers and obviously can not hear the phone ringing!
I additionally had a go at sending an “irate email” imagining I was a client whining. A week went and no answer, pretty much as I anticipated. Signing up with PayPal is surely a good way to protect ones self.
eHost Pros vs. Cons
Pros:
- Ahhhh The site looks pretty?
Cons:
- Way to many bugs
- Drag-and-drop feature don’t work properly
- They don’t respond to emails, telephone calls in a timely fashion (If at all)
- Too many billing mistakes
- They are professional SCAMMERS! (who may apologize for taking your money)
So although they could potentially NOT be scamming people on purpose. They still have found themselves falling into the nasty abyss of the SCAMMERS column. Due to lack of communication. Unclear pricing. Poor software development and implementation. Unclear and misleading pricing schedule and just poor business ethics. Period.
So What Are My Options?
Well as I stated previously, some of you may be more inclined to go with Godaddy.com But what if i show you a free alternative that also offers an affiliate program?
That would be the other service I mentioned! Wealthy Affiliate It offers some pretty cool stuff for free! Here’s some of the great things WA has to offer:
- Live, 24/7/365 Chat
- Interactive Discussions
- Live Question & Answer periods
- Private 1-on-1 support with ME & the owners
- 2 Free Websites
- Affiliate Boot camp Training (Phase 1 of 7) & Beginner Training
- 2 out 12 Training Classrooms
- Affiliate Program (Lesser Payout than Premium)
That’s just the free stuff included with no obligation to ever pay for premium service! Although its very worth it!
It’s clear that eHost is not the place to be starting your online business.
Upon joining me at Wealthy Affiliate, you will also notice that members offer a wealth of information in the profiles. They contribute to their blogs, they have posted their own teachings(training) and they have a wonderful POSITIVE ATTITUDE. There is such an abundance of information within the community that I encourage everyone at least to try it for free.
Final Thoughts…
I vote SCAM / REALLY POOR BUSINESS ETHICS
Thanks for reading!
Pete
Companies always put their Drag-and-drop feature as their selling point but unfortunately not many of them work well. eHost seems not providing clear support and protection to domains. Beside, the price was I HYPE! I see there are many billing criteria and I cannot find a clear price status from eHost.
After reading your review, I found that, $13+/month for a domain!? What the? That is unreasonable.
Seems Wealthy Affiliate provides about $14/year for one domain and many support within the service. I will give it a try.
By the way, how do I do research for a domain? I don’t know what domain name to use.
Cyril,
I have never been a fan of drag & drop feature myself. Even with the high caliber of services such as GoDaddy. eHost I noticed when I tried to exit the page again was offering 70% off – again paid up front for 1-3 years. So it seems as though they are desperately trying to have people sign up.
I also run Linux hosting at GoDaddy for cheaper than $13/mo!
Have you wrote down a few ideas for your domain name? Also are you thinking of projecting it towards a particular Niche? Here is a really good article to hopefully help you with picking a domain. https://goo.gl/cVgfJA
If you have anymore questions please don’t hesitate to ask!

Hi, it seems you really dislike this eHost. After the first read I am not completely sure if I can completely agree with you. The monthly price looks rather reasonable for me, at least in this aspect they have not been greedy. Of course the other issue is what they really offer. Have to check it a bit more, perhaps to see some other reviews.
But I understand you are suggesting some better option. Is it really so as you describe in the end of your review? Thank you.
Hey Jovo,
Well let’s face it customer service in a service industry should be of the utmost importance. Right or Right? Their lack of customer service and help support is basically what throws this company under the bus. If you go here https://ca.godaddy.com/hosting/web-hosting you can see that the middle option even at full price blows eHost out of the water in regards to services offered, dependability and not only that; GoDaddy customer service is amazing.
If someone is reluctant to issue a refund in conjunction with their terms, is it a scam artist or poor business ethics?
Feel free to try them out if you wish and let me know your thoughts afterwards.
Thanks for the comment!
Pete
There are so many scams online these days that you dont now who to trust. Im glad that there are people who search and recognize these “get rich fast” shemes and warn people about it. You wrote great article and I am sure it will help a lot of people who want to make honest money online. Great job.
Great information. Ehost definitely sounds like a nasty scam. They trick people thinking that there is a good deal while secretly charging hefty prices afterwards.
Wealthy affiliate definitely feels more genuine. It offers more support too which is better so that even people with no prior web building experience can get into it. Thank you.
Information about scams is always welcome in my opinion and I thank you for taking your time to show why ehost is a terrible option. Look at all those bad reviews and incomplete price information. It does look pretty fishy. Nothing like good Wealthy Affiliate! Also like your sense of humor haha!
Hey Mike!,
I’m glad you enjoyed this review! I truly believe in a good product, good customer service and most hosting companies all have a referral program of some sort. There’s other great companies like 1and1 and Host Gator for examples.
Thanks for the comment!
Pete
This is quite a dodgy company it sounds like. I have heard of eHost from somewhere but never joined for the reasons you talk about here. They act like they are giving you a nice discount but try to trick you by making you stay for 2-3 yrs.A legitimate company wouldn’t have to do these things I wouldn’t think. With all of those complaints I wouldn’t go near that company for my hosting. A well-written review my friend
Randall
Hey!
Thanks for the comments.
I agree 2-3 year is bit steep and how’s the reliability of being a shared server or virtual server? Who knows. There’s plenty of websites with lots of negative comments. I found a few positive but not enough to outweigh the general consensus.
See you around,
Pete
I’m saddened to admit that had it not been for such great reviews which aims to expose imposters, I probably would have fallen victim to another sham at some point. $13/mo for domain hosting is pure daylight robbery. A lot of people end up not willing to try anything new as far as online businesses go because of the fear of being taken advantage. Well done for exposing these scams Peter, keep up the good work.
Thank you Levi! I will try to keep updated as much as possible.
Pete
Hi Pete,
Your clear writing on eHost really took me on board, a little historical overview, what they are good at and what their promises are, and what the markets reaction is.
Your review starts with a sum up of the more important details, and as you mention: Price undetermined or only in small print. Not the best to attract customers!
I like your description of personal experience with their Customer Service, again your writing makes me continue reading.
Is showing the GetInstantAccess button meant as the example eHost doesn’t work?
Your writing convinces me and makes me look further into a program like Wealthy Affiliate, my only question is: I come across excellent reviews all over for WA, do you have seen any other?
cheers, Jan – ihaveseenthat.com
Hey Jan,
Thanks for your input! I will make changes accordingly! I appreciate it a lot.
Besides WA its the best community based affiliate program I have found, where people like to help others and see each other succeed.
I will for sure check out your site. Thanks a lot for the feedback!
Pete
Hello peter,
Thanks for giving great reviews about this program. Recently, I had done my survey this program and I did some investigation to find out any legitimate issue in this program. This program (ehost) looks very nice in the presentation and it has it own professional value visually. Unfortunately, I heard many complained made by the member regarding the poor support. It is scam.
Thanks!
I agree, although they seem to be backed by a bigger IT company. I believe it is poor poor business ethics.
Thanks Rendall!
Pete
There are so many companies offering hosting online that it is extremely difficult to choose which one is just right for you. It is always better when you start off by going with someone big that you have heard of, rather than the smaller hosting companies that seem to crop up every day. I hosted with a small company once who promised to build me a website. My website and the company were gone three months later.
Michel,
I totally agree. I have always stuck to the bigger names in the game. In doing so, I have never had an issue with my websites and always receive great customer service!
Thanks for the comment!
Pete

I am happy to meet another avid user of WA. I agree with everything you say and it has been such a great success for me.
Thank you for the comments!
Pete
Hey there,
Thank you for the information. I have a GoDaddy account, and they are pretty similar with their discount offers in terms of paying in advance.
I like GoDaddy, it’s relatively easy to use. But their website builder isn’t the best for beginners like me, you cant even blog on it. And it takes a lot of time building the website, with not much step by step guides to help. So yeah Wealthy Affiliate is definitely the best of the bunch.
I have created websites in the past and have wondered where to host them. There are just so many hosting sites to chose from and its difficult to make the best choice. In the past I have gone for cheapness rather than anything else. But I suppose this has not been a good idea as my site could suffer because of problems of their service. Do you have a review of godaddy as you recommend that service.
Hey Owain!
I will be doing a review of GoDaddy. I have been with them for a very long time for several other websites. Sometimes going the cheaper route = you get what you pay for. Not exactly my cup of tea when it comes to a site that accepts a lot of traffic.
Hope to see you come back for the GoDaddy review!
Petey
I’ve never personally used eHost but I’m glad I found your review to stop me from using it in the future. I can’t believe the site doesn’t work properly and is asking that much money for it! I’m glad I use WordPress and I recommend it to anyone out there. But, great article and it was very helpful!
Hey!
Thanks! I am glad I was able to assist you.

Your money making website, is one of your most valuable property. Since it is so important to you, will you host it in a second-rate hosting company? Or, will you find one that’s superb and top notch in quality?
There are better hosts out there. From Bluehost to Hostgator, GoDaddy to Wealthy Affiliate, we have plenty of options to choose from. Best options I think.
Now, let’s go back to my question: Will you entrust your most valuable piece of property on the Internet to a second rate or the first rate host?
Hey Gomer!
Good question. For myself. Well why settle for second best? Is that not conformity? When it comes to hosting there’s a lot of things to factor in. Is your website generating a lot of traffic? What’s your usual monthly bandwidth usage? How’s the server uptime? What kind of guarantee to they have for uptime? What’s the backbone connection and is it affecting your page load speeds? Are you using a CDN? Shared server or dedicated server? All kinds of things can come into play.
As a website matures and begins gaining popularity, it may be time to move your page to a top tiered system and highly consider dedicated server with a fiber optic drop. Though that would be if you were getting millions of hits a day! Which is a pretty good goal!
Thanks for stopping by,
Petey
Hi Peter,
I think it’s safe to say I agree. The answer to whether ehost a scam is a resounding yes!
Any site that doesn’t offer a clear pricing structure always gets me worried, the fact they can’t be bothered to fix any bugs, they don’t respond to support requests and don’t respond to poor customer reviews and feedback, tells me they don’t and have no intention of ever providing a good service!
Good and thorough review. I noticed a few errors in grammar and punctuation, but that is common on most sites in the beginning and is an easy fix. The biggest problem I have is that some of the graphics are so small and do not enlarge, that I can not read what they are. Your content, however, spells it out very clearly. You covered all aspects and are thorough in them all. Good job.
Hey Daniece!
Thanks for the comments and feedback. I do believe one day I may have someone proof read my writing, rather than do it myself! lol! I will have to fix some of the images. Its on the TO-DO list!
Petey
Hi Peter,
Thanks for your eHost review, this has put me off joining them.
I am looking to create an online business with a niche I am passionate about.
Writing and blogging isn’t a problem as I will be dedicated and willing to commit.
What I would like to know is: What’s Wealthy Affiliate’s training like building websites?
I do prefer watching some video training rather than some pdf document training as I tend to learn a lot easier by watching someone then implementing.
Thanks for your time,
Simon.
Hi Simon,
Well I believe you and I can both agree, you would really enjoy WA and take a lot from it. It has tons of video tutorials to help a man, such as yourself reach your goals.
Thanks for stopping by!
Petey
Hi Peter,
You offer a lot of affiliate information of hosting and gold.
Which of those has your real passion? There is a lot of information about gold only. A remarkeble history of that precious metal. Have a look at Kitco may be you can find there more affiliates.
Nice Google ads you use.
But to be honest, I think your real gold is in your motivation. That could be your second niche/website.
Good luck.
Greetz, Reinier
Thanks for the input Reiner!
I actually have another domain name that I am saving for a motivational website. That will come in time when I get this website up to par! I will check out Kitco for sure.

A very helpful review of e-host. This is another of many scams that people fall for. The drag and drop is an excellent point of sale, but it is hinky, does not work real well.
I think you get what you pay for. If you want to have your own domain, and more control over hosting, is there a better option?
John,
There are many alternatives to hosting. Wealthy Affiliate offers some great hosting if you are into wordpress sites. If you you are into more of an e-commerce site there are so many BETTER options to choose from.
If you would like me to write a review on another company please feel free to let me know.

Prior joining Wealthy Affiliate, I was looking into e-host to start my online business. As I was totally new to this “Online World” I though e-Host was a pretty well establish and reputable site. After weighing the pros and cons while consulted some friends , I didn’t settle for it and do nothing till lately I bump into WA. I’m glad that I made the right decision to join WA and I find it’s one of the most wonderful platform for newbies like me.Thanks again for highlighting what e-Host is all about.
I’ve been through a similar situation where I had problems and could not get through to their support, just like you mentioned in your review. Tried looking for a phone number and there wasn’t one. There was no instant chats, nothing except email. They advertised responding within 48 hours, yet despite numerous emails, weeks apart, there was never any response. When it comes to taking your money, they do that instantaneously and it does not matter how little, and yet, as soon as they take your money, they go into hiding. You never see them again,
Thanks for sharing your experience!
Petey
Unfortunately hosting services scam us as well. New marketers should be extremely aware of all these tools and services that popping up, or else money will be sucked out of their pockets.
I was lucky enough to end up on a platform that got me covered from all the business aspects: websites, protection, hosting, keyword tools etc..
Thanks for this great review – It will sure help beginners!
Thank you for insides. Actually I first time heard about this kind of domain. Thank you for sharing!
Sounds that ehost is NOT really good. Despite of that it is an old company. Sadly that people don’t want to work on their cons. Just try to get other people’s money.
You are very welcome! Stop by anytime.
It truly boggles my mind as well how this fairly larger company is letting this kind of conduct slide.
Hopefully they pick up their slack!

Yeah it is quite sad that their primary focus is cash only rather than providing a quality service to others. Helping people with their needs will bring in the cash. With word of mouth if they treat their customers right!
